Live Nation has announced the rollout of blockchain-based NFT tickets across 100 major concert venues in the United States, aiming to eliminate ticket fraud and give fans verifiable proof of attendance. The system runs on the Polygon network.

Each ticket is minted as a unique NFT that cannot be duplicated or counterfeited. The blockchain record provides transparent transaction history, making scalper markups visible and enabling artists to earn royalties on secondary market sales.

Fans receive tickets in a dedicated Live Nation wallet app, with the blockchain functionality operating invisibly in the background. No cryptocurrency knowledge is required — the experience mirrors traditional digital ticketing with added security and collectibility.

Post-event, ticket NFTs become digital collectibles that can be displayed in virtual galleries or social media profiles. Some artists are offering exclusive content unlocks for NFT ticket holders, including backstage footage, unreleased tracks, and merchandise discounts.

Ticketmaster's integration was controversial among crypto skeptics, but early results show a 90% reduction in counterfeit ticket fraud at participating venues. Secondary market transparency has also reduced the average scalper markup from 300% to 80%.
